The challenge

TGB Flooring had years of experience behind its work. The website needed to make that knowledge tangible for homeowners: who was doing the work, how the company approached specific flooring challenges, and what people should consider before starting a project.

What we did

We developed owner messaging, service-area copy, and project stories, then built an HTML research resource comparing hardwood and laminate in local home listings. The work connected homeowner education with TGB’s installation, refinishing, and repair services.

Giving experience a voice#

TGB Flooring had decades of experience to draw on, along with a family history that gave the business a personal story. Our work began with making that experience easier for a homeowner to understand through the website.

We developed owner messaging around Brendan Daly’s experience, the company’s family history, and the craftsmanship behind its installation, refinishing, and repair work. Those details gave the content something specific to say about the people and knowledge behind the service.

The aim was to help a prospective customer get a sense of TGB before the first conversation. That meant connecting the company’s background with the work a homeowner might actually need, then carrying that connection into the service and local content.

Making local content useful to homeowners#

We developed service-area copy to support local search visibility and answer homeowners’ questions. The content brought TGB’s services into the context of the communities it served, giving people a clearer picture of the work available to them.

Installation, refinishing, and repair each begin with a different situation. Someone planning new flooring has different questions from someone deciding what to do with an existing floor. We used those services as a foundation for content that connected the company’s experience with the decisions people were trying to make.

That local focus also shaped the project storytelling. Beyond describing the services, the website had an opportunity to show the thinking involved in a particular flooring challenge.

Showing the craft through a real project challenge#

We worked on project content explaining what it takes to extend hardwood into an adjoining room and create a cohesive finish across old and new flooring. The story centered on the relationship between the existing floor and the new work, making the challenge understandable to someone considering a similar project.

That specificity gave the craftsmanship a practical context. A homeowner could recognize the situation: a space changing, a floor being extended, and a desire for the finished rooms to feel connected. The content helped explain the work behind that goal.

This approach carried into the research that followed. We wanted to give TGB useful material rooted in its local market, with enough substance for homeowners to explore a question in greater depth.

Looking closely at 117 Highlands Ranch listings#

One of the most substantial resources we developed was a local report comparing hardwood and laminate flooring in 117 Highlands Ranch home listings. The sample included 72 listings identifying hardwood and 45 identifying laminate.

We turned that comparison into original material for TGB’s website. It brought a local perspective to a topic relevant to the company’s services and gave homeowners a defined set of observations to consider when thinking about flooring.

The sample was central to how we presented the work. These were observations from a particular group of listings, and the value of the resource depended on making both the comparison and its boundaries understandable.

Turning the analysis into a resource people could use#

We developed the report as an HTML resource with summary statistics, a comparison table, methodology, limitations, and homeowner FAQs. Those elements gave readers several ways into the material: a quick overview, a closer comparison, and an explanation of how to interpret what they were seeing.

We included links to relevant TGB services so readers could move from learning about flooring to exploring help with their own project. That connection gave the research a practical place within the website and the company’s wider marketing.

We also included structured data describing the article and dataset. Alongside the visible content, it provided a machine-readable description of the resource. The development work brought the analysis, explanation, and service connections together on the page.

Keeping the interpretation honest#

The way we explained the findings mattered as much as the presentation. We made clear that differences in listing prices were associations within the sample. They did not establish that installing hardwood would cause a particular increase in a home’s value.

That distinction shaped the report’s methodology, limitations, and supporting explanation. A comparison of listings could offer local context, but it could not isolate flooring as the cause of a price difference or predict the return on an individual homeowner’s project.

Keeping those boundaries visible allowed the resource to be useful on its own terms. Readers could consider the observations alongside their own needs, with a clear understanding of what the research did and did not show.

A stronger body of local content#

Together, the owner messaging, service-area copy, project storytelling, and research gave TGB a more specific story to tell. Its experience became material homeowners could read, recognize, and use as they explored their options.

Our work connected that story to a practical website resource: original local research, presented with care, and linked to the services behind it. The project gave TGB a foundation for marketing grounded in its own history, craftsmanship, and market.
